The Whales of the Silver bank
|
| Selection N°116 |
| |
My whole body is vibrating with the water. A few meters below me, the tail of a singing whale is pointed towards the surface. There is no movement, only the huge sound that travels for miles and miles under the surface of the ocean. A sound so powerful, that the whale’s song echoes through every inch of my body. The giant of the seas is hovering in mid-water, over a mother and her calve. The mysterious chanting has brought us right where we wanted to be: in close contact with the humpback whales, which, for still unknown reasons, gather every year on the Silver bank.
